Anchor Mentoring respects the privacy of our mentors, applicants, mentees, families, staff, and supporters. This notice explains how we handle information submitted through our website and used in our mentoring program.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with Anchor, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, school or workplace, age or grade, mailing or payment information, mentoring and case information, timesheets, references, application answers, and an applicant photograph. We also keep ordinary technical and security records needed to operate the website.

How we use information

We use this information to review mentor applications, contact applicants and references, create and support mentoring relationships, communicate with families and staff, manage timesheets and payments, maintain program records, keep the portal secure, and meet legal or administrative obligations.

Who may access information

Information is available only to authorized Anchor staff and service providers who need it for these purposes. Mentors and staff using the portal receive access appropriate to their role. We do not sell personal information.

Children and family information

Anchor handles information about mentees and families with particular care. Parents or guardians may contact us to ask about, correct, or request deletion of information associated with their child, subject to records Anchor is required or reasonably needs to retain.

Storage, security, and retention

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for program operations, safety, recordkeeping, and legal obligations, and then delete or de-identify it when appropriate.

Email and communications

Anchor may use the contact information provided to send program, application, administrative, or fundraising communications. Recipients may use an unsubscribe link in applicable bulk emails or contact us to change communication preferences.

Your choices

You may ask to review or correct your information, request deletion where appropriate, or opt out of nonessential email communications by contacting Anchor.
